Apple’s iOS 26 rollout introduces a visually striking Liquid Glass interface, capturing the attention of iPhone users worldwide. However, early adopters have reported frequent lags and minor glitches, common with major software releases. For users unhappy with the experience, Apple continues to sign iOS 18.6.2, allowing a potential rollback.

How to Downgrade iOS 26 Safely:
Back up your iPhone – Use iCloud, Finder (Mac), or iTunes (Windows). Multiple backups recommended.
Turn off Find My iPhone – Disable via Settings and sign out of Apple ID to avoid activation issues.
Download IPSW file – Obtain the iOS 18.6.2 firmware specific to your device from Apple or IPSW.me.
Connect your iPhone – Use Lightning or USB-C; Finder or iTunes should detect the device.
Enter DFU mode – Follow Apple’s button sequence to put the iPhone into Device Firmware Update mode.
Restore iPhone – On Mac, hold Option and select Restore; on Windows, hold Shift and select the IPSW file.
Wait and restore data – The device restarts multiple times; restore backup or set up as new.
Apple advises that post-update lags often result from background processes like re-indexing and app updates. While downgrading offers temporary relief, it’s recommended only for experienced users due to potential risks.
